Tip #3 - My New Obsession!

So, my sister-in-law-to-be told me about an amazing website, www.etsy.com. It is my new obsession! Etsy has an entire section devoted to weddings and you can search for just about anything! If you like the homemade, vintage, and unique ideas, this website is a must! I have bought the most awesome things for my wedding, but I have also gotten a lot of great ideas. Because most of the items are homemade, you can take away the ideas and make your own! My most recent buys are this adorable sign for my ring bearers to carry down the aisle and these pins in place of boutonnieres also for my ring bearers! Check it out for just about anything you need!

I'm a Bride-to-Be!

A Photographer’s Journey….

If you haven’t heard, the owner of Reflective Souls Photography, Randi Anzevino, is engaged! She will be getting married in September of this year and will be posting some tips n tricks she has discovered along her own wedding planning journey!

“I have always been on the photographer side of weddings; now I’m experiencing the plethora of emotions as the bride-to-be! The joys, the trials, the frustrations – all of it! :) I have come into contact with some incredible resources, though, that I want to share with my other fellow brides-to-be. Follow my journey on our blog today!”

Tip #1 – Finding your dress with the help of a consultant

If you haven’t found your dress yet, go visit Mia at Alfred Angelo on Lake Mead and Rainbow. Oh my goodness, she is amazing!!! I walked in to the shop with no appointment, simply to look and try on – playing up the bride-to-be status, I suppose. :) She picked out a handful of dresses for me, was completely attentive to me and my experience, and I found “the one” in the 4th dress I tried on! On top of that, it was one that SHE picked out for me! She spent the time to hear what I wanted in my dress and took in my body type and what would look good on me. I walked out of there with my dress ordered in less than 2 hours. She is a GEM!!!!!!

Tip #2 – DIY Central, plus a fun & unique tradition!

I have always loved the arts & crafts. I grew up with my mom and I have weekly "scrapbooking dates" and always ended up making my own invitations for parties, gifts for loved ones, etc! So, I am enjoying making my own wedding invitiations, favors and centerpieces! It sure gets my creative juices flowing and it has been such a great time creating our wedding with my fiance. If you want to head down the DIY bride planning, my favorite resources have been www.mydiyweddingday.com, www.diybride.com (this site has a few books by the author and gives you step-by-step instructions on how to make your own everything, including a cost savings calculator!), and walking through Michael's Arts & Crafts store! Michael's has 40-50% off coupons in every Sunday paper, as well as in the "junk mail" we all get, at least once a week! If you are patient and don't mind a weekly trip to Michaels, you can save a ton!

My next idea was one borrowed from a recent bride of mine. While she and her bridesmaids were waiting before the ceremony, all of her girls signed the bottom of the bride's shoes! It was a great time of sending the bride sweet last-minute well wishes and a great keepsake for afterwards. I will be having my bridesmaids sign my shoes! Will you???? :)
